This is the newest story online. It is also new because it is talking about Obamas Presidency.

This is Proximity because it is near us in Austin. It is driven because it's about a car pileup that happened because of icy roads.


Prominence – the “newsworthiness” of an individual, organization or place.

This is about the diversity in the Oscars this year. The impacts the audience because in the years past there would only be one oscar presenter, so they added a lot more black presenters the academy feels like the audience should relate to the show.

Conflict – the meeting of two or more opposing forces. These forces can be physical, emotional or philosophical.


Diplomacy only real solution to latest conflict in Middle East
This is conflict because there are the forces of the middle east and England and America. This is mostly about the struggle of the two forces and how the war ended but there is still conflict not only in the Middle East but also in America.

Human Interest – the drama the surrounds people involved in an emotional struggle.

This is Human interest because it is about a dramatic experience in ex Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner. This is about how why he wants to turn to a woman and how it's affecting his family and himself.

Novelty – the attraction people have to unusual things and events.

Front Pages of the World


1. What is your favorite newspaper front page? Why?
United Daily News Taipei, Taiwan I like the layout and the photos they took

2. What is your favorite headline from that newspaper? Why are you interested in it? 
I don't know what it says so I guess I don't really know

3. How many stories are on the front page of your favorite? 
I still don't know but i think there was 2 or 3 stories 

4. What do you notice that all newspaper front pages have in common? Look at design, size of photos, size of story text, etc.
They all have a dominate photo and a title that are the most eye catching thing, some of them will have a chart or a graph.
5. What are things that vary (or are different) on the front pages of different newspapers? Look at design, size of photos, size of headlines, etc.
A lot of them have charts that vary and also have different pictures that they put in different places. The most things I realized that are different is that they have a title most of them have something next to the title, like highlander it would be a cal tic warrior next to the title.

Summary - After nervously submitting their work into an art competition, Moe and Hull were awarded for their pieces. Out of the 170 students that entered this competition, 56 had won a gold key and 62 had won silver keys.

3. If you were a photographer on staff, which event/photo assignment would you have liked to do for this issue? You will need to look through the topics and decide what you think would have good for you.
I think the soccer picture is a really good picture it was taken very well and very exciting 

4. Overall, how would you rate the photography in this issue? What were the strong points and weak points. I would say the pictures were all alright, and that every photo had their strengths and weaknesses 

1. My favorite picture was the photo of Deborah Moreno singing for Son De Rey entitled First Session.
1A. This is my favorite because it shows how she is outside of school, and I rarely saw those types of pictures
1B. The Rule of Thirds is evident because Deborah is in the lower right of a imaginary grid

1.What is your favorite newspaper front page? Why?
The highlander. I like the way how it's easy to read and how it looks more like an actual newspaper.

2.Which paper immediately grabbed your interest? Why? 
The highlander just stood out from the crowd

3.What is your favorite headline from that newspaper? Why are you interested in it? 
Watching Our Protectors it sounds like a Batman comic.

4.How many stories are on the front page of your favorite?
2 stories 2 like 2 kings and 2 something
5.What do you notice that all newspaper front pages have in common? Look at design, size of photos, size of story text, etc.
They all have a title that seems to be large and most are bold and also they all tell a story
6.What are things that vary (or are different) on the front pages of different newspapers? Look at design, size of photos, size of headlines, etc. 
They amount of the photos they took and also the style lie portrait and landscape and art house.
7.Were these similar to what you saw last class when you looked at daily newspapers from around the world?
No it seems more like amateur work that a 3 year old could do i feel like 3 year olds got a camera and took a picture of something and called news
